There is a lot of help and guidance on dealing with debt and consumer issues. I have included details of websites and helplines, all which offer free advice. As there are so many, I have separated them all into 5 main catagories to make it easier to search through.
If you are part of an advice group or can recommend one, please send me the details including either a website address or a phone number explaining what help is offered and which catagory it is prefered to be included in.
These are sites where you can read posts from other members as a guest or sign up for a free membership to post messages yourself. The forums are run by moderators and the knowledge is wide, covering many subjects. You are likely to find many people in similar situations to yourself, but be aware that as responses and advice can be provided by all members, the advice may not always be accurate. However these sites are a gem for communicating with people in similar situations and the support is not hard to find.
These are sites where you can find accurate and free qualified help on consumer issues. These are not forums and are read only. Many offer email and telephone contact if further help is needed.
These are sites which have been specifically set up to pffer free debt advice, Many have free tools for use such as online calculators for APR and Interest payments.
These are registered charities which offer advice and help on many areas.
These are phone numbers you can call if you need advice or someone to talk to who understands your situation.
